D.J. Percussionist and producer
D.J. Ductape was born as Aaron Smith, in Columbus Ohio on Wednesday, January 28th 1981 by mother Marilyn and Father Daniel. D.J Ductape was always around music as a child because his older brother played drums which were then passed down to Aaron. D.J. Ductape has played percussive instruments that span from drum sets to marching drums, African percussion and mallet instruments, and has been playing the drums for 18 years. D.J. Ductape has also been a D.J. for 10 years who focuses on fusing Hip-Hop, Breaks, Top 40, and Electro House utilizing using the techniques of a Turntablist.
Aaron has traveled many times and has performed in major Ohio cities such as Columbus, Akron, Dublin, Athens and Cleveland with crowds in the thousands. Also he has performed for major headliners such as Paul Okenfold, D.J. Funk, D.J. Skribble, Filo and Pery, Ferry Corsten, D.J. Micro and D.J. Sophia Lin. D.J. D.J. Ductape has resided at many local venues and night clubs such as Karma Night Club, Boma, Spice Bar, Sugar Bar, Mozaik, Park Street patio, Screamin Willies, Eddie Georges, Carlile Club, FrogBear just to name a few.
D.J. Ductape is well known as a extremely talented D.J. and drummer who sets and accomplishes goals, is easy to work with, and remains professional. Some of the fans and people that he works with say that he “seamlessly controls and rocks a crowd”. Others have stated “That he’s the best D.J. around” while others have just said, “Amazing”.
